Colorimetric Sensing of Volatile Organic Compounds Produced from Heated Cooking Oils

چکیده

Measurement of cooking-associated air pollution indoors is an integral part exposure monitoring and human health risk assessment. There a need for easy to use, fast, economical detection systems quantify the various emissions from different sources in home. Addressing this challenge, colorimetric sensor array (CSA) reported as new method characterize volatile organic compounds produced cooking, major contributor indoor pollution. The composed pH indicators aniline dyes classical spot tests, which enabled molecular recognition variety aldehydes, ketones, carboxylic acids demonstrated by hierarchical clustering principal component analyses. To demonstrate concept, these CSAs were employed differentiation heated cooking oils (sunflower, rapeseed, olive, groundnut oils). Sensor results validated gas chromatography–mass spectrometry analysis, highlighting potential evaluating source

Colorimetric sensor arrays for volatile organic compounds.

The development of a low-cost, sensitive colorimetric sensor array for the detection and identification of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) is reported. Using an array composed of chemoresponsive dyes, enormous discriminatory power is possible in a simple device that can be imaged easily with an ordinary flatbed scanner. Excellent differentiation of closely related organic compounds can be ach...

Bioactivity of volatile organic compounds produced by Pseudomonas tolaasii

Pseudomonas tolaasii is the main bacterial pathogen of several mushroom species. In this paper we report that strains of P. tolaasii produce volatile substances inducing in vitro mycelia growth inhibition of Pleurotus ostreatus and P. eryngii, and Agaricus bisporus and P. ostreatus basidiome tissue blocks brown discoloration. P. tolaasii strains produced the volatile ammonia but not hydrogen cy...

Volatile organic compounds produced by human skin cells.

Skin produces volatile organic compounds (VOCs) released to the environment with emission patterns characteristic of climatic conditions. It could be thought that these compounds are intermediaries in cell metabolism, since many intermediaries of metabolic pathways have a volatile potential. In this work, using gas chromatography, we answered the question of whether VOC profiles of primary cult...

Volatile organic compounds from leaves litter.

Qualitative composition of volatile emissions of litter of five species of deciduous trees was investigated by GC-MS. The list of identified substances contains more than 70 organic compounds of various classes. It was established that the composition of components emitted by the litter into the gas phase greatly differs from that of essential oils extracted by hydrodistillation from turned lea...

Volatile organic compounds of Thai honeys produced from several floral sources by different honey bee species

The volatile organic compounds (VOCs) of four monofloral and one multifloral of Thai honeys produced by Apis cerana, Apis dorsata and Apis mellifera were analyzed by headspace solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) followed by gas chromatography and mass spectrometry (GC-MS). The floral sources were longan, sunflower, coffee, wild flowers (wild) and lychee. Honey originating from longan had more...
